I read the amazing book "Looking for Alaska" by John Green. This book is awesome because it shows the meaning of love and it makes us see how a common teenager, Miles, transfers to a boarding school and gets really good friends, Cololen, Takumi, and Alaska. They were always pranking around, drinking, smoking, and living crazy adventures. There's also like a love triangle in this story, because Miles falls in love with Alaska, but she has a boyfriend who is in collage, and there's a girl named Lara who really likes Miles. Alaska dies in a car crash, and Cololen and Miles have to find out how they were really guilty or if Alaska committed suicide. Miles and Colonel want to find out how were her last moments like and Miles tries to figure out what her death meant to him, he started realizing who Alaska was and who he wanted her to be. Then Miles, Colonel, Takumi, and Lara plan a huge prank that includes a stripper, a lie told by Miles's father, and a class speaker, it was all dedicated in memory of Alaska and it was a big success. Life goes on and Miles and Colonel give up on the mystery of Alaska. They focus on their studies and get a final exam essay assigned by Miles favorite teacher, the "Old Man". It asks how each student personally gets out of their own labyrinth of suffering; finally, Miles has some answers to this question and writes about his suffering for Alaska.
I personally really liked this book, I think it makes us see characters that may sometimes behave badly, but the author describe them so you feel they are real. This book has some big topics like self discovery and loss, which, in my case helps a lot, you can really learn about life by reading it. I personally recommend this book because it can really change your perspective of life by all the messages it gives. I also really enjoyed the way the author writes because it makes it serious and funny at the same time. People who like to see characters that are not always perfect and that are completely human, and like something to be thinking and questioning about for a long time may really enjoy this book. I loved it!
